Manual Wing Mirror

Hi, my first post:)
The nsf wing mirror on my 2008 Transit Connect needs replacement. It is adjusted by hand at the glass and not by a cable connected knob. I can only find the cable operated or electronic versions available for sale on the Internet. Does anyone know if it is feasible to just cut the cable off that version and use it as a true manual mirror?

Answering my own question but hopefully this will help someone else. Used the cable operated version and just let the cable dangle in the door cavity - all ok.
