Problem with rimms

Postby Geoff1979 » Sun Apr 16, 2017 9:07 pm

Hi guys,
I have a little problem
I had 15 inch steel rimms on my connect.
So i buyed some 17 inch alloy rimms.
But i have a problem
I cant put them on the car.
The nuts only goes on for 1 round max.
I think the nuts are to big
Is this possible?
Do i have to change the nuts or do i have to change the studds for longer one's?
Thanks!

Are the 17" alloys original Ford rims, if so you need the Ford wheel nuts that most Fords use that have original alloys
Please don't send me PM's, i can't access them, when I try I get this:

No 17" alloys are not ford
So i just need other nuts to put them on the car

If you don't get it don't play with safety, ive seen a few where the wheels had be changed for aftermarket and not fitted correct, last one was a merc, front wheel come of on motorway, bounced over central reservation and hit a coach that was coming the other way, lots of damage, insurance didn't / wouldn't pay out due to the unsafe modifications to vehicle!!

Dont whorry liteace i wont drive like that im not creazy
Tomorow i'm going to a tuning store to see if they can help me with nuts with a narower taper
That will screw on correctly
One off my friends thinks the alloys comme from a car with screws instead off nuts
Could that be the problem?

Hey guys,
Problem solved :? :?
The alloys are from a peugeot and they use special screws to fit them.....
So i will have to rework the wheel holes to fit the normal ford nuts :x
Sended a e-mail to a rework company today hope there price is payable
