For the time being I have takes the transponder out of a key that worked and will use that for now. So I now have a flip key that works and unlocks and locks from the buttons

The place I bought the car from bought me a replacement key, just needed it programmed and cut. After seeing all these issues with people programming their own keys, I thank God I listened to my trusted mechanic and had my local Ford dealership code the key!!! You CANNOT program your own keys as the computer will eventually reject both the original key and any others you have! Thed dealership told me(and it's on the net) that every transit has a 3 key limit. To properly add a key, the ECM must be wiped and all keys recoded with new codes to work properly. You go the cheap route and do it yourself, you might get lucky...for a little while. Only a few may have pulled it off where there were no issues. Do it right and be safe, or you can really mess up your vehicle
