Transit connect 2007

Postby Doc,s » Tue Jun 06, 2017 7:07 pm

Hi all
I have a problem with my wipers on this 2007 transit connect.
They will not park.
Normal speed and fast work but dont park when you turn off .
Intermediate dont park just move and park any where on screen.
We have changed motor to a known working one and stalk.
I would say its the relay but can not find one for wipers.
I have checked Haynes manual and the wiring diagram says switch to R162 (relay)
Any help with this would be appreciated.
Lost now really.
Thanks.

The relay on a 07 connect is un helpfully built inside the fuse box :!: You would need to replace the fuse box completely, or if you are daring enough, open it up and replace the relay by soldering in a new one. I have no idea why ford did this on this model, as those relays have always been prone to failure. The rest of the circuit is completely controlled by the dashboard/ instrument cluster (I'm currently in the process of completely re wiring mine to make it work with a variable intermittent stalk, and old relay and not go via the dash controlled timer for intermittent which is completely fixed. so I will be removing my "hidden" relay completely and not using it anymore hopefully)

The heated rear screen relay (used for electric mirrors even if you don't have rear windows), and the interior light relay are also both inside the fuse box
