You’re not going to be the first person to do repairs on the cheap.

True, but there is doing it cheap and doing it right

Anyway. Here is the current results. Looks OK from a distance. Phoning around ford to find some oem fasteners for the side clips since these side bits seem to be a bit of a pain to get on. Going to try heating them to see if I can shape them a bit. I saved the fasteners for the plastic top cover so I'm going to pull the bumper off myself next weekend. Should have just told the garage to release the nuts and payed them £20. Guess I learn things the hard way.

Be nice to finish it and wait for the next thing to fail. Probably the turbo

I fitted a bumper kit from a certain Transit 'bits' supplier.
Not genuine Ford!

Turned up and looked ok qaulity.

Then had exactly the same problems as yourself.

Step had to be glued on, then it came loose, so I wrapped large black cable ties around it.

The end caps would only stay on after I bolted them with s/steel nut and bolt through the bottom fixing point!

The plastic tabs were all brittle and nothing aligned correctly with the original ford mountings. Basically crap plastic copies that do not fit. Thanks TP's.

Should have brought genuine Ford parts......

Yep, pay more, but only have to buy it once! I'm glad I got a second hand OEM front bumper. It had some minor damage, but it fit perfectly!
