Help with vans handling

Postby stugordon » Wed Jul 05, 2017 10:53 am

I've not owned the van long so unsure if this is normal or not.
When accelerating in first or second gear I can feel a wobble through the steering wheel. This is most noticeable when driving round round abouts or turning at junctions rather than if driving in a straight line.
In the couple of thousand miles I've done it doesn't appear to have got worse & it's more noticeable when the van is empty. The tracking needs doing however I can't see it being this. I intend having the tracking done soon as I need to replace a tyre. Any ideas to help locate the problem or if it's normal being front wheel drive etc.
Thanks

It's likely to be a worn drive shaft joint, but could also be caused by an "out-of-round" or misshapen tyre. You can check the latter by putting the fronts on the back and seeing if anything changes
