Boost gauge

Postby mk2dk » Sun Aug 27, 2017 5:46 pm

Hi all
Today I've fitted a boost gauge to the Connect, mostly because I had it lying for years. Made a test drive and it seems to be working fine.
Boost is coming in fast and peaking at 1.10 to 1.20 bar, does that sound ok for a 2003 1.8 TDCI 90HP ? Don't know how precise the gauge is, it's definately not the most expensive :D

My 06 TDCI is blowing a tad over 2 bar but not at full load, your gauge maybe is set so atmospheric pressure shows zero
so atmospheric pressure @ aprox 1 bar + your 1.10 - 1.20 charge pressure = 2.10 ish
Thats OK
Please don't send me PM's, i can't access them, when I try I get this:

Picture from the garage, instrumet ligths on. Think the gauge is ment for a petrol engine, since it has a negative boost area below 0. The Connect never has negative boost, as it dosn't have a throttle butterfly as a petrol engine. Night time driving it looks really nice :D

The gauge has boost one way and vacuum the other (negative boost as you call it) depending on how you plumb it in  N
