Clutch problem?

Hey everyone.

So when I pull away in 1st gear, put my foot on the clutch and change into 2nd I can still hear the engine/gearbox spinning and should I release the clutch the van jumps into 2nd and kangaroos for a bit, but holding my foot down on the clutch until the spinning noise stops then releasing the clutch makes it a lot smoother to change.

Not sure if that's normal or if there's a problem with my clutch, or perhaps a problem with something else?!

its a 2017 post, but sounds like he either needed the slave bleeding or the clutch/dmf is failing
