Intercooler Inlet Hose Bracket Goes Where?

Postby axxeman » Thu Sep 21, 2017 12:31 pm

Hello chaps, my bracket (as per the thread title) was broken and the guy who was fitting a new hose for me took it off the block so I could get another one. Unfortunately, he didn't show me exactly where the bracket bolts to the engine block or the correct orientation. Could someone take a picture to help me refit this part please?

The van is a TC 2004 1.8 TDCi

Many thanks.

I don't recall the number Piggy, it's the bracket that goes beneath the hose on the right hand side of the engine when you are stood at the front of the van ...

... and bolts onto the end, or near the end, of the block.

That's the fella, I can't find a photo but it slips under a bolt down the RH end of the block.
Search that part code on Ebay for the bracket.
The rubber bushes are expensive from Ford but £6 for 4 on on Ebay

Ah. That looks like it is a photo of a later model than mine as the hose is slightly different. I can see the top of the bracket though and it appears to be more on the side of the block rather than the end. Oh how I wish that I had taken more notice when the old one was removed. Trouble is, the chap lives 50 miles away so I can;t just "drop in". The bottom of the bracket appears to have a tongue that obviously locates somewhere in order to keep it in the correct orientation ...

EDIT. My hose has the fixing on the other side more like this;
