Shoddy service from main dealer

Postby cavalino » Sat Sep 23, 2017 2:33 pm

Just had my new Connect serviced at a main ford dealer ,it was its first service as it is a year old and only done 9600 miles so far.I know to preserve the warranty you have to use a ford dealer or so I have been told. Any way service was done and I picked my van up, it was not washed as they said they don't clean commercials as some come in caked in mud, I was not to fussed about that because they would only scratch it any way. So cleaning it today I opened up the bonnet to check all was well and the engine was covered in oil spatters, it was every where, it took me over an hour to get it all cleaned off, also looking down at the fan I saw an old oily rag wrapped around the fan blade, it was stuck in the housing I had to carefully unwind it.By this time I was fuming I paid a lot for the van and I look after it.
I called the service dept and told the service manager ,he sounded very sheepish and apologetic, he will raise it with the mechanic on Monday(apparently)I bet nothing gets said.
I feel like naming and shaming the out fit so to warn others off.

Not true. Name them! They sound as bad as the lying fraudulent gits at Perrys Aylesbury.

Perrys are their own worst enemies, they've lost out big time from my sons company fleet business, and I ended up buying a car elsewhere, because of their lethargy

There are good dealers out there, so I must give a big 'up' to our local dealer, Bicester Ford, they recently serviced my sons company Connect, and it came back all clean inside and out, even though it's a leased van with contract servicing and repairs. Their servicing seems to be quite thorough as well 8)
So much better than the awful servicing that his old Caddy received from the VW dealer in Kidlington, that always came back filthy, and they never attended to the list of problems given to the service dept.

Keeping the warranty.
It does not need to be serviced by a Ford agent, but the garage must be VAT registered, and must use Ford parts and fluids.

They overhauled a 140 mk7 gearbox for us, when we got the van back the gear lever gaiter was split & there was no gate so going for 1st was easy to hit reverse  That was when it was Lifestyle, the place seemed to go down hill after George retired from reception.
Did hear from another one of there ex customers that they wont do warranty work on a Saturday
