Electrical blackout

Postby delsalmon » Sun Oct 29, 2017 6:36 pm

Have an 08 lwb, 530,000km. Had 2 complete electrical blackouts recently.

Bout 2 years ago fitted a spurious cheap ignition switch.
Van has been lying up for the past year, new battery fitted, had to reconnect the battery a couple of times at first, wondering could it be a fault needs clearing?
Glow plug lume was burning hot and smoking, mechanic did a new connection.
Got a new towbar and electrics for trailer board, fitted by mechanic.

Both times when I turned the ignition it wiped everything out.
Checked all the fuses, ok.
Disconnected the battery for about 5 mins, reconnected and away she started.

Wondering if any of the above would be the culprit, or would the immobiliser be on the way out?
Anyone have a fuse diagram for the glove box?
Worried I replaced fuses I was checking into the wrong slots in the dark.
Thanks

Forgot to mention the only light on the dash albeit very dimly was the seatbelt warning light.
