2004 Connect - glowing instrument panel

Hi All,

I recently bought a 2004 1.8TDdi Connect.

I noticed whilst walking past it on the drive the other night after the streetlamps have been turned off that I could see the dials on the instrument panel very slightly lit up.

I went and got the key, unlocked the van and turned the lights on, and they lit as normal. When I turned them off again I could just about see a slight glow again.

Is this normal?

Not normal. Seems to be an open circuit, or some sort of permanent live. Check the light switch with a volt meter, and maybe swap it out for a cheap used one? Loads going on fleabay for a few quid.
