Grab Handles Fixings and Parts Diagram?

Morning,

I have searched the forum but couldn't find the answer ...

1. Does anyone know if you have a 'basic spec' van and there are little plastic 'blanking plates' where the grab handles would normally be, will there be fixings behind there that I can fit a pair of handles to? I'm trying to avoid prising them off to find there isn't and end up with just a hole! I already have the spring-loaded type handles from a Mondeo ready to fit.

2. Is there an online parts diagram (or uploaded microfiche) available anywhere? I have looked at this website but it doesn't seem to go into much detail.

On my mk7 i fitted a grab handle to the front screen pillar, there was no fixings out holes there but i used a rivnut tool and drilled pilot holes then flared the nutsert in the hole which added the thread and i could bolt the handle straight to it.

I've no idea whether you will have the fixings present tho unfortunately

Is there no way to check before doing anything?

I have an 04 van I fitted the drop things on your head shelf and grab handles all the fittings are under the blanking plugs.
