connect 110 software update

Hi all,
i have a 61 plate 110 lwb connect with 50k on it, having some running issues and was wondering if anybody else has experienced the same.
engine runs fine when cold, problem is when it begins to warm up , ( 5 minutes down the road ) the driveability changes dramatically, it suddenly gets noisy under 2000 revs,feels like its lost power in second gear and feels like it wants to stall when setting off from rest.runs ok over 2000 revs though.
had a 04 90 lwb before this and that was ace van, best van ever owned.
i spoke to vantuner about this problem, he said software update would fix it, i wish i lived down south, i would have taken it to him.im up north.
has anyone had this running issues, and do i have to go to a ford dealer for this update if its available?
shame as its a good van but this running prob makes it a pain to drive slow around town,
i thought about maf/map sensors but mechanic has had it on his diagnostics and all read fine with no codes stored
any help appreciated,
