EGR valve, bulkhead solenoid

Postby simes » Sat Nov 25, 2017 12:05 pm

I’ve done a few searches regarding a juddering or a feeling like the van is going to cut out. A common answer seems to be the bulkhead solenoid for the EGR valve. I went to ford but the guy told me I had to change the whole EGR valve as the solenoid is housed in it??? Can anyone shed any light on where the solenoid is and what does it look like?

Connects from 2000-2006 have solenoid for EGR valve. From 2007-2013 they changed to elec actuator.

See photo below for location of EGR elec actuator.

Unfortunately Ford only supply them complete with inlet manifold.

Any fault with EGR valve. MIL light on instrument cluster will be on indicating an engine management fault. :!:

It's advisable to get DTC's (Error codes) Read. Using a suitable OBDII device. As they would point you in the right direction. 8)
