heater temperature

Postby pestguard1 » Tue Dec 12, 2017 2:44 pm

I Just had my water thermostat housing and thermostat replaced at a garage , yet heater temp takes ages to warm up , ...like 20 odd mile before its even warm , I took it back to the garage and they say the expansion tank hose was blocked, surely this isnt the problem

Normal for connects in these weather conditions, if it's got thermo plungers fitted it'll heat up a bit quicker if it's not that's how it is, mine does the same unless I drive it up hill for 10 miles so the engine is under load and getting hot
Please don't send me PM's, i can't access them, when I try I get this:

My 54' plate TDCI is also slow at warming up, especially in these recent minus temperatures. Just as liteace said, this is how mine behaves too, and always has. Once it has stretched its legs for a mile or so, things start warming up nicely. Only for the gauge to sink slowly again when i sit in traffic. They just run cool. Even in summer i have only heard the engine fan come on a couple of times in the 4 years i have had the van. Apart from when i use the A/C of course.

I have a 2010 connect and ive noticed if i keep the rev's high in each gear it warms up much quicker. For example i keep it in 3rd at 30mph rather than dropping it into 4th as advised by the green arrow indicator on the dash display with no noticable diffrence to MPG and the heaters warm up a treat.

Worth a go mate and its free :D
