Identify fuel pipe

Postby cheers-cochise » Thu Dec 14, 2017 11:41 pm

First post-ever!

I’m struggling to identify a fuel pipe that is leaking on my 2007 1.8 tdci Transit connect. I think the engine is the Lynx diesel 1.8 Duratorq TDCI (90PS). The pipe (?feed pipe) runs to the right of the engine block and has a threaded connection to possibly a filter?

Its leaking at the threaded end and I would like to replace it but can’t even identify it from the various parts diagrams.

Hope one of you geniuses can help?

Thx

Gerry

The threaded connection you've circled,is not a fuel pipe,
It's the vacuum feed to brake servo.
The only fluid likely to leak from the unit it's connected to,would be engine oil.

Cheers Frag
So it’s not a fuel pipe after all....
That explains why I couldn’t find it
Is that the vacuum unit that it connects into?
Thx

Yes,brake vac pump is driven via a pushrod,by an eccentric on end of camshaft,
It's oil fed from the head, with a rubber drain pipe from bottom draining back into the block.

If you have a fuel leak, the 'O' rings on ends of fuel leak off connectors to injectors are the most likely cause.
