Where's best for alternators?

Hey guys.
Yes another alternator thread question....
Had a look at my mates 59plate connect not charging (so not starting)
I thought it would be alternator but just found info on loom so will need to check that first now.
But I'm kinda still leaning towards alternator as after a bit of running I could hardly put my hand on it as it was scorchio and there was a bit of a fried electicals aroma too

Are there any recommend suppliers of new/reconed alternators?

Having paid for a "branded" alternator that lasted just over a year, I then bought an ebay "cheapie" which is still working several years later

It's always going to be a lottery, if you can fit it yourself, you might as well fit something less expensive and take a chance
