Help with dpf part numbers 2016 connect euro 5

Postby Darren.w » Mon Jan 15, 2018 11:09 am

Hi all,
I’m looking to see if anyone knows if 2 dpf part numbers cross over to each other as they look identical from what I can see in pictures but want to make sure it will fit before I buy it.

They are only 1 digit out
My original is DV61-5H270
Replacement is AV61-5H270

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Usually the suffix changes for revisions, but the prefix differs on yours so that may indicate the "AV" one is for a model with different power level. Get full # & check with ford parts dept on it to be sure.

Thanks martynx I’ve spoke to the parts guy in ford but he’s not got a clue. He couldn’t even find the av number. He’s useless at the best of times though.

The reason I’m asking is because I’m wanting to remove my internals of my dpf so I’m thinking it should be ok as It’s just the casing I’m going to use if that makes sense.

The one on my van only has 10k on it so not wanting to ruin that, and is £200 dearer to buy a used one.

Please, keep us updated how it goes, or make a new thread about how it went. My Connect Tourneo already had a DPF error at 7500km, lol. Thanks!

I spoke to a couple of exhaust places and they said they wouldn’t do it because it’s illegal now so I need to do my own lol

Mot laws have tightened but its still a visual inspection rather than a gases test. If you cut it round a seam rather than cut a hole / hatch in it? that's what i always do and glad i have now the mot man is obliged to check the filter system more carefully.

Yes still a visual check, As from 20th May 2018. DPF's will be checked for signs of being cut open & welded back shut. (Connect DPF as it has only 1 machine weld & it's at the bottom)

Combined that with these 2 rules also being added to MOT in May 2018 "Exhaust on a vehicle fitted with a diesel particulate filter emits visible smoke of any colour" - MAJOR defect (MOT refusal)
And Diesel emissions tested against vehicle manufactures limit.
