Remote entry key fob

Hi there . I just purchased a new remote key fob. The one with the blue button on . I have done the ignition turning 8 times but the van auto locking cycle is not kicking in . My van is a transit connect 2006 swb. Can any help . Cheers .

As long as your van has a functioning remote central locking system as standard, and you close the doors when going through the cycle, then it should work fine. Check and replace the remote battery, and double check that the central looking is working by locking it manually from the drivers door - after making sure ALL the doors are unlocked to start with.

Thanks for the info . When I purchased the van it didn't have a remote with it for locking the doors . The central locking works ok with the key . The new remote I just brought has a new battery in . Cheers .

Thanks for the reply . I have checked that thread out . Perhaps my van don't have the remote central locking . I will give ford a ring on Monday and what they say . Many thanks for your help .
