wiper linkage help please

Hi guys

Got a 2004 tddi and today get into van and forgot to turn my wipers off from last time i was in it and we have had alot of snow and bang as i turned the key the linkage popped out of the ball joint in the middle of the drivers side,

I have manage to look at it and it seems the joint/arm was welded on from last owner so my question is please

what position should it be in please ?

i plan to drill a hole out of the weld and start again i really need help with this as is raining every day and am planning to drive to kent on friday so really need it doing

If you can drive on the roads, can you get to a Local scrappy for replacements? Would be far easier and better than bodging them up temporarily when you may be very reliant on them. Just my thoughts. Good luck pal.

ALL SORTED

I got a wiper linkage from a doner van and stripped the old one out THIS WAS A PAIN AS i could not get the wiper arms off

ten refitted the new wiper linkage vie youtube and guys on ere so thanks i have a fully working wiper set now
