Change Connect Fuel Pump?

Postby OldskoolUpNorth » Tue Apr 10, 2018 4:17 pm

Afternoon all,

My 2006 90ps is at about 127k.

I'm getting ready to change the timing belt, aux belt, water pump, timing chain and the tensioners.
It's pretty rattle'y when not under much load, which I think is a slack chain?
I've got to change the fuel filter as well but if there's no evidence of swarf, is it advisable to change the pump anyway on a high mileage engine.
It's a Delphi system, I got the injectors recon'd 18 months ago as it was in limp mode when I got it.

I'd rather replace it now but it is expensive. Expense I cant stand at the minute unless really needed.
Plus it's obvious TDCI's are a pain in the backside to bleed.

Any advice from the experts???

Cheers,

Neil.
