Clunk when lifting off and going back on accelerator

Postby _matt » Tue May 08, 2018 1:33 pm

Im getting a clunk when lifting off the accelerator in 1st and 2nd and also when i go back on the accelerator, feels like its coming from under the drivers seat.

Also sometimes happens when pulling away by just slowly lifting off the clutch.

Any ideas?

Check your dogbone mount, right underneath between back of gearbox and subframe.

Does that look like one of these three?

The one he's got his hand on yes.
The other 2 are engine & transmissions mounts

The rubber cores age & collapse.
If you get hold of the sump/bottom of gearbox and shove it backwards and forwards as hard as you can it shouldn't really move.
If it's flapping around and making any noises then something is worn.

It was exactly this! £11.5 delivered off ebayhttps://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/122245283763

10 minutes to replace, drove up ramps, bolts out, swap part, back in.

This video shows how to do it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2P74cIvlmg

Replaced mine nearly 4 years ago with a genuine part, and it has been doing this again for the last 6 months or so, just a bloody pain these mounts are! It has only done about 30ishK since! Not slow traffic driving either!...
