2008-9 dodgy injectors?????

Postby Piglet » Tue Jun 19, 2018 11:31 am

This might be old news but I've only just stumbled across it.
Basically there was a Ford Technical Service Bulletin relating to 08/09 1.8's re crap injectors, code ending in 3
Mine are '7t1q 9f593 ab' and my symptoms match.
TSB 27/2012 dated 14/05/12 and affects 1.8L Duratorq-TDCi (Lynx) engines between 2008/2009. It affects the Focus, Mondeo, C-Max, Transit connect and Tourneo. The title of the bulletin is "Excessive combustion noise and or hesitation during light load acceleration with the engine at high operating temperature"

If you read the TSB again, it says check the part number of the NOZZLE, not the Ford part number for the injector.
It doesn't say they're "crap injectors", it says update the PCM software as they poss. changed the parameters in the map for for smother running with the #3 injector nozzle tolerances
Please don't send me PM's, i can't access them, when I try I get this:

Thanks for the reply
I haven't got access to the full TSB only a reference to it which doesn't quote the whole thing, though it does make a reference to released PCM calibrations.
The part number on the top of the injector is 7t1q 9f593 ab which references Ford 1432322.
Where would I find the nozzle No?

So it is, can't tell if it's 003 or 1003, ends in 3 either way.
Is there any way of checking if the PCM update has been done using Forscan?

I did not know that you could do PCM updates with Forscan. How do you get hold of the PCM update and how do you get it uploaded into Forscan? I just downloaded the app a couple days ago.

You can't do pcm updates with Forscan. Not yet anyways. It's meant to be implemented on version 2.4 but nobody knows when is that going to be released. According to their forum they've found serous issues that need to be rectified before they even start beta testing.

When you connect Forscan to the van, it'll show you the details of every module on the configuration tab. Including the pcm calibration number.

You can enter that calibration number in here:

https://www.fordtechservice.dealerconne ... roduct=IDS

If I'm not mistaken only the latest calibration files are available there..
So if you get a "file not found" message then you're not on the latest calibration.

That's as far as you'll be able to get without IDS.
