2010 Connect parking sensors failed

Postby highroof » Sat Jun 30, 2018 11:03 pm

Hi, as title, they all packed up suddenly a couple of days ago. Nothing else seems affected. It's on a 59 plate facelift T230 110 LTD. Is there something common to look for?

Have you still got reverse lights as this would also indicate a fuse

Yep, first thing I checked, reversing lights are ok. Do the sensors have their own fuse, or do they share it with other things? As mentioned, everything else seems fine.

Do you get the long beep at startup, telling you that there's a fault :?:

The game's moved on! On Saturday, I had reversing lights, but no parking sensors Checked again today, neither working now. No bleeps at all from anything. Nothing if I go around the back and listen to them. So, reversing light switch or fuse? Or both? Are they accessible?

More or less the first problem in 3 years, so can't complain, although there is the possibility of something else to contend with looming! I'll post up about that when I get to the bottom of this, as it's not long before the MOTs due, and there are obvious fail issues going on here!

It will be the switch on the gear box as I had a focus estate that had similar fault turned out to be gearbox switch was duff

Nice one, and much obliged. I'll have a gander at the price of a replacement.

So, in a new twist, the parking sensors came to life again today. Life's full of surprises! Reckon that definitely rules out a fuse then.
