Underneath the battery tray the loom is fixed to the tray by some little plastic straps. Remove all these and remove black outer and hopefully you should see a break in one of the wires. Common fault.
I’m going to follow your advice today as this appears to be the next logical step from what Ive learned so far!. Ive had the alternator reconditioned(apparently factory fitted unit-going to check outputs with 2 separate meters) also replaced the short loom from alternator. While I was doing this I checked the loom(removed black conduit exposing wires) running across the top of the radiator and couldn’t find any faults.
Soon after owning the van 3 months ago, Ive also had issues with disco lights, all interior lights flickering and heater blower surging. The battery light goes off and on regardless of the weather condition(owned van since Oct18) along with the other faults.
At the moment the battery seems to be charging, I’m travelling 50 miles a day with lights on most of the time but the faults are the same. The engine appears to be running okay(ticks over fine) but when electrical surges happen the engine tick over will sometimes surge as well. Is it a good idea to continue driving the van in this condition ?
Also how do i create a signature ?
Cheers
