Rumblebee did you fit the gauge yourself? If so how easy was the job?

Nice job Rumble bee 8) Very Vw Audi stylee in the vent  there's a vac hose coming off the inlet manifold t into that! As for the injector's i might be able to get specs on some ie: flow rates/sizes/fitments etc as a good mate works here
http://www.pandadiesel.co.uk/
The trouble i see is the whole fuel system isn't great even if we could fit upgrade injectors how about the rail/pump/spider valve? Remember winding the boost up on the tiny turbo will also raise charge temp's Im not saying don't ive been into tuning stuff for years and well up for seeing what can be done, Unfortunately my connect is my main income! so i can't risk experimenting with it :( After exhaust/de-cat/filter i'd try a better intercooler next or even re-position the existing oe item :D

Took 5 mins to fit just snipped the air vent vanes and slid it in. Simple

Cheers, the tee which came with boost gauge is just to large to fit in the pipe, and ive already cut the hose

Any idea what the sensor at the end is for?

Fortunatley managed to piece it back together with a smaller pipe inside the vac pipe. Hopefully it will do till I can get a proper connector for it.

Boost Gauge Mounting Mark 2 - not going to stay there but will do for the while (behind this panel is where it came through the bulkhead)

In Malta, it was normal to give these engines massive boost levels.
I had a mk3 fiesta myself which was driven daily with 2.5bar , I had no intercooler ( was always in my mind but didn't have enough money to fit one ). It was the old 1.8 diesel engine, which originally was out from ford with no turbo. I remember floor the pedal on 4th gear and it still used to spin the wheels. It surely was 150bhp and with alot of torque. However in Malta this was nothing so special, diesels where faster than petrol.
Now if we used to get that kind of power with uncalibrated diesel amounts and factory injection timing, i believe that todays TDCIs can output over 200bhp with suitable turbo and intercooler and a proper remap. It is the same block and the same internals i believe, correct me if i am wrong.
I always believe that a power full diesel engine is more economical.

I have now a 2006 connect 90, with a pressure fooling box. I have a boost gauge which shows 15psi. tried to vent the signal to the actuator but will remain at 15.
It needs a harder spring. My friend has a 2008 90bhp connect it goes slightly faster than mine. He says his diagnostic shows 20psi, Turbo is the same , but it has the siemens diesel system, and the intercooler is not tilted , it is vertical.

cheers
