bleedin right theres some hills  right foots not that heavy al  ,the connects tank holds 10gal,i think when light comes on you've got about 2gal left,i nearly always fill it up when light shows,so,350 divide by 8 = 43.8 ish mpg :!: my 110 is remapped, decatted and runs on ultimate with millers sport,so its got a bit of go in it so i don't have to tread heavy,i do a lot of stop/start so i think it's pretty good

It isn't your foot g-man but your sums are a bit off.

Connects have 60-litre tanks, and the fuel light comes on so close to 10galls. used (46-litres) that it's uncanny.
I just fill up & reset the trip(usually ranges from 455 - 470) as soon as the light comes on, and it's always 46 - 47 litres Derv going in.
I've done 90 miles in Caithness (only a few garages up there & horrendous prices) with the fuel light on but drove VERY CAREFULLY.

You're getting 34-35mpg which ain't bad but could be better.

I tested mine on this, 113 miles from fuel light on and it started to cut out. It took 5 litres from a can and then 54 litres at the petrol station a mile away, so it was pretty empty!

That's really bold.

Despite putting my faith in the handbook I did cheat a bit by coasting downhill a bit, and carrying a spare gallon.

Somewhere i've read that once it's run right out of diesel the fuel pump needs to be re-primed before the engine will restart. No advice on how to do that from the handbook so bloody glad it didn't get that far.
