:?: :?: I dont want to speak outta turn in case your engine is different blueconnection but coolant bottle, engine mount (for handiness) and cambelt cover is all that needs removing iirc to access belt for change and i would change it anywhere from 80 to 100,000 just to be on the safe side as they are handy done 1/2 hr to 2 hours depending on your mechanical skills and only fit a genuine dealer or gates belt kit

yes but one of the timing locking pins goes behind the alternator bracket into the engine block, another locks the fly wheel through the opening in the bell housing for the starter motor and a bar locks the cam shaft from the opposite side of the pulley

Never used them m8 but i am a mechanic by trade, just marked the wheels iirc, but if you are doing one first time and arent sure best to use pins and lock it all off. they are prob the easiest belt you can get to change

My mechanic tells me that he only uses Gates. He's getting me a price over the next few days.

if your a mechanic by trade mate you would of done hundreds of belts and know what to look for if its not right, most people on here its there first time or only done afew, every engine i have changed the cambelt on i've used timing pins on barr one, an old ford pinto engine out of a capri now in my kitcar. if you use the pins then you know the timing is 100% right.

You have taken me up wrong m8 as i stated i have not used the pins on the connect but i have used them on most other belts i have done as it would be silly, time consuming and prob wreckless not too and as i said before if you are not confident lock up the engine
