On the Focus, you flash the headlights using the H/L flasher stalk, then get out and lock up.
They stay on for about a minute IIRC :D

Old thread i know but i just bought a 2005 connect T200 and i have had this very same problem, When going out to my van at night i would notice the dash lights are on but dimly. i also have noticed a lack of power from the battery and have attributed this to the dash lights staying on. Has anyone found an answer to this problem yet or experienced the same or similar?

Thats the same as the MK7 Transit, which does leave the display illuminated for 5 minutes after you lock up

HI, had exactly the same problem on my partners 06 ford focus keyless entry system, seen loads of posts with no easy fix + loads of expense ..diagnostics not worth a light , i found the relevant fuse in handbook ...took it out and run a small 2core wire to it with a little switch out of the way that also acts as an imobiliser , not perfect ..but it cost me nowt..just one solution that stops the battery getting drained when left for a few days ...wich is a right pain in the perverbial ..hope this helps if only temporary ; )
