Hello everyone, its been a big weekend for the connect.
First thing this morning drove round to Hampton to collect and fit a roof rack I won on ebay for £31
Then fitted the ipod lead.
Ok I started out with this
Then with the four headunit removal keys in place I slowly pulled out the headunit like so
With the headunit half on my knee and half on the gear knob I got the ford ipod lead out
and fed it through the spare lighter socket hole to my fingers that were ready down the back behind where the headunit would be. So now I have this
then I got the white end of the lead and pluged it into the back of the headunit
next I had to drill a 20mm hole into the blanking plate, this
slide the unit back in slowly carefull not to trap any slack from the lead oh and make sure the ariel lead hasnt popped off.
Clip in the 3.5mm socket into the blanking plate and test it!
I would like to be able to one day move it over to the top of the dash near the divers piller as thats where I mount the iphone to use as a satnav. and it would be nice not to have a 3.5mm jack lead trailing across.
Cheers
