radio/cluster delay

Postby valetech » Sun Jun 19, 2011 9:48 am

i have a delay on the radio and some of my dials after starting my connect 58 reg.

after having loads and loads of problems with my ford cd player i replaced it with an aftermarket headunit.but noticed there is a delay on my fuel gauge, rev counter and temp gauge of around 30 seconds after starting
have refitted the ford unit back in now but the delay is still there, but now the headunit does it aswell.

does anyone know how to stop this or have the same problem? does the radio have to be paired with the van or something?

please help its doing my head in

does your cigarette lighter work? with mine it affected the dials, radio ( will turn on but not from ignition live so would turn off after an hour) and the cigarette lighter socket, i never did find the culprit, it just started working again after i disconnected the battery, i checked fuses and relays and wiring. its done it afew times now :(

If the connect is wired the same as a focus then the radio does share a fuse with the dash
I found this out one day when i put in an alpine head and it stoped working :( i checked both radio fuses and the fuse in the radio fine :? went to a car radio shop they tested head unit fine :? so i started pulling fuses and found one for the dash was blown  changed it and the radio worked fine :D
