What fabric did you use and how did you fix it on?

Acoustic material similar to that on speakers, got it off ebay. Its quite stretchy so nice tight finish. You fix with contact adhesive which you spray on both sides. Dont use cheap stuff as its prone to crystallise in time.

My vans crap at cornering especially when carrying weight so fitted a strut brace to see if any improvement, if not I'll just treat it as a bit of under bonnet bling :-)

I didn't have any when I got te can so bought some "silent coat" (same stuff as dynamat but cheaper) and it did make a bit of a difference. Luckily a friend wrote his connext off and I pinched his fibre one, so that's on there too. It makes a difference with keeping the heat in te engine after you've been stopped for a while. Doesn't take so long to warm up again.

Fords wanted £120 for a new fibre one!!

Any difference to noise?
I've lined the floor in the cabin and cargo area with soundproofing which helps keep the road noise down.

Salvage yard 5 min from me has just had another connect in a few days ago.
I can check to see if it has the bonnet insulation if you still require one.

It does make a difference in sound level

Got it through the MOT.

New exhaust last week, then failed on Wednesday due to 1, passenger seat belt not releasing under tension. 2, Emissions test, failed .

Two days of fuel cleaner, and bouncing the engine on the limiter [ 60mph in third gear on the dual carrigeway gets a bit annoying], new seat belt receiver and it passed.

One advisory: 'Evidence of slight fuel leak in area of breather hose on top of tank ' Now I am guessing something simple like a hose clip, but if it is a tank out job , it can wait.

The fitter was suprised the exhaust had only lasted six years [ 58 plate] but I thought it was about normal.

Can't say ive noticed a massive difference inside the cab, but then again there's shed loads of road noise. But outside the can it sounds like a newer BMW diesel, quite quiet with just a hint of tractor.

Woolf

I used this stuffhttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/28135865 ... 0&ff14=108

Basically thoroughly clean the surface with detergent and a scotch pad then apply a thin coat and just build it up from there, about three coats should give a good coverage. I then gave it a thin coat of spray dye from Halfords just to get an even finish :-)
