the only complaint i heard about the light show was that we didnt leave it going long enough :!:

...................spotlight on the "Big Monts" there. I think now we know it`s a success we will be able to arrange a little earlier (dusk) so that we are not frantically trying to get everyone together in the dark  Also set up a registration maybe, so we can allocate enough space to each van.

Most, if not all, need to leave engines running so I think it`s up to you guys to decide how long you want to run for.
Another popular category to the Show for next years 50th Anniversary Luke. :D

I also think that still photos with headlights on high beam facing the lens are very difficult to take :?:

Yes mealic, you'd need a filter I reckon on the camera lens..... Note to self... Sort that out for next year lol

Filters wont really do much good as the lights will be shining straight down the lens onto the sensor. Best to be taken at a slight angle with dipped lights. Could add a filter for effects then. Taking night shots of illuminated objects is a bit of a juggling act, flash can work (but waste of time on smaller compact cameras) or timed exposure on a tripod maybe better.

I was thinking of a tripod and the delayed shutter on my slr... Just though a starburst filter would make it look more effective....

Its a little bit of guess work but set camera to M at F8 ISO 400 then take a few test shots. You could increase the ISO to keep shutter higher but will add noise which does show more in blacks. Starbust can give a nice effect but can be overdone so try with and without. Also a little flash can be effective too but mostly trial and error depending on the lights.
