I asked the same question when I booked my tickets. The told me "The gate is usually manned until around midnight. If there is someone still on the gate they will let you in."

Seriously though, I'm only ten miles from Santa Pod, and we have had some hefty showers recently but with enough sun and/or wind in between to dry things out.

Unless it really pisses down all week it should be ok.
