concourse competition

Postby MattBlackMinibus » Fri Jan 22, 2010 12:52 am

How about a concourse competition at the show Luke?

Don't know if there'd be time for it, or who'd be up for it,
but a this thread could answer that, if you think worthy or feasible :?:

long term i definatly think its a good idea but i dont know if we'd get enough entrys this year :?:

i want to keep the public judgeing system we had last year as it got everyone involved and ive had great feedback about it 8)

i think it would be better to get 'profesional' judges (or a panel of chosen experts) to judge the concours as with the public voting wouldn't necessarly pick out the best concours wise :D

To be honest, there would only be a handfull of vans that would qualify for concorse, most vans are working vehicles which will be nowhere near the condition they left the factory, condition wise like Andy g or Catdaddys vans could win but are modded away from totally standard, concorse means as it left the factory and standard, how many of our vans are like that?

you can still get modified concours :D but basically it'd be judging a van on it being the best condition wise rather than the publics favorite :D

Make it for all mk's except 7, anyone who has the money could go out and buy a brand new mk7 and enter it meaning there's been no effort put into it

The way concourse works is the vehicle has to be in the same condition as it left the factory or very close to it, the vehicle has to be standard spec for that model, factory fitted options allowed for, it is aimed at older vehicles that's why i said no mk7's although you could allow mk7's over a certain age say 2 or 3 years old otherwise people could "cheat" and enter a brand new one

I thought concourse was for vehicles no longer in production :?:

condition wise like Andy g
Thanks for the mention :D
but are modded away from totally standard

So I'd have to remove all the boarding, and fit the "custom/Hallmark" spec trim back in, (gone to Jono anyway) remove my Dynamat Xtreme  remove the alarms, st/nav. hands free kit, the steering wheel and my A pillar custom pod holder by the one and only plastic fantastic AlanN

Nooooooooooooooooooooooo way :!:
See ya :!: :D
