Can't find water pipe!

Postby jojojcl » Tue Mar 12, 2013 8:23 am

This is doing my head in! I recently bought a 1988 Ford Frontier campervan. There is a fresh water tank underneath the rear offside seat, I have stuck my arm inside it and it appears to have one outlet at the bottom and an overflow at the top. The outlet pipe comes out under the van with a plastic washing machine type connector tap on it and then goes nowhere (like a drain - presumably for emptying the tank in the cold weather?) So I imagine somewhere there is a pipe that I have to connect onto this tap thing to get my water running, but for the life of me I cannot find it! Inside the van I have traced the supply pipes back to where they disappear behind panelling and then I am lost. Any ideas please anyone? :?

There will be a connection on the top with a dip pipe into the tank, which is where your water pump should connect

Morning,

My van is a Ford Transit based Autosleeper 1987.

It has a fresh water tank fitted under the vehicle and the filler pipe/cap is in the engine bay(!) front o/s on the same panel. Grey washing machine type tubing.

Thanks ake, I will have another look and see if I can find it.

BootsBoots, I've found the filler cap thanks, it's the connection to the internal pipes that I can't seem to find.

I need to get out there and have a good look around it again, I am an overworked single mum with no time to fiddle!!

Sorted!! It was all connected, I just needed to let the pump run with the tap open for long enough for the water to come through! :D
