Cartridge gas and vents

Postby bezzabsa » Thu May 09, 2013 4:31 pm

Hoping to build a small sink/cooker unit into the van - the cooker being a small aerosol powered one, It's going to be used when stationary, but would a vent be necessary?
Rather err on the side of caution, but as its going to be positioned by the back doors i'm getting differing opinions!!!

Not really needed, but I wouldn't be cooking in an inclosed van for any period of time.

Boiling a kettle will be ok, but much longer and you could run the risk of leaving our world. Vents are normally needed for when an appliance is on for a long long time, such as a gas fridge or heating etc

Don't worry about it. Even when I have used our cooker etc. the gas will be disconnected.

Some form of ventilation would be a good idea, even if you just open the door a crack. Any thing is better than carbon monoxide poisoning.

As long as you're shifting air out of the van from high up you'll be fine, carbon monoxide is lighter than air when warm. Don't forget a CO alarm, cost feck all, save many lives.. :D

You still need a vent at low level to let the air in, so the fan can suck it out.
