Lift off steering wheel

Postby GBW » Wed Sep 28, 2016 9:18 am

I have fitted swivel seats with a view to lengthening our sleeping space.
The nearside one is fine, rotating outwards to finish with the back towards the screen.
Complete rotation of the offside one is blocked by the steering wheel.
Has anyone ever converted to a lift-off wheel?

have fitted swivel seat in front as well and have no problem just have to do a juggle with back and base as you turn it.
if using the original base may be set up a further set of sliders on that so give you more rear movement. have had to do that to some situations

I got quick release boss on my steering wheel. Great bit of kit. Try nicking a van with no steering wheel!
Youll need a mk1 escort boss and a quick release boss kit and a flat not dished wheel prob 13 or 14 inch diameter.
Master soline on transit shaft so line up boss and gently tap it onto splined column.
