yeah thatsnks guys! ideas are amazing, really liking the garage door idea and i think i could use that well! I made a bed to fit in the back of a mk7 swb low. it just is a mdf base which needs to be lightened off lots! It cost me around $70 aus. Perfect for the roadtrip we made it for! In the van we had a shelving setup on one side as it is my father's works' van. If it was made again it 100% would be better to be layed with your head on the side wall of the van. But super happy with how it turned out! I now for sure have the transit bug! :D

Change of plan now! Parts delivery department has two mk7 transits on the move really soon, they are high roof mwb. So dad seems pretty keen on buying one for us to work on ! :D

With recent discussions and reflection on our previous model bed, we reckon it should be an elevated bed with a good mattress with a little fold-down ladder to climb up but still enough room to put a bike in and then we can both stand- up and move around, maybe having a little living / sitting / pit room. haha All in all having a good time talking trash with dad, thats what its all about, right? :)

I'm currently building a frame that is level with the shelf over the cab. I'm using four equal sized frames for the base taken from and old cabin bed base and then using L shaped sections to make the side runners and the end support.

The end ideas is that the bed frame pieces are hinged together and can stack against the front of the van with the bedding fitting in the over cab bit. The support beams will be strapped/fastened to the inside walls of the van above the side windows or above the sliding door when not used.

I'll post photos when its built

Hello guys,

This spring I mounted 2 bunks in a Renault Master to make a conversion. I've made 2 beds one above the other and both of them foldable. Can anybody help me about inserting pictures, please. I'll be glad to let you see what have I done, but I don't know how to add pictures...
