Not as much progress this week as I had hoped, but got a bit done,

Bit more lining in

Image

And got a start on the kitchen units

Think this layout should work OK, as still want access to back door. Also leaves just short of 1.9 meters length and the full width for the bed, so should be able to squeeze in a shade short of a full sized double, and still just be able to move round the van with the bed out.

Also had a motorway speed run in the pissing rain and was pleased no water came in the mushroom roof vents. Very slight amount of wind noise at around 70-75, but nothing major. Hopefully once I get the roof lining finished and a grille over the top they should be quiet.

Cheers Robbie, just trying to take my time a little and do a better job, rather than ploughing ahead. But on the other hand, I'm impatient and want it done :)

Seem to be at the stage where you do shed loads of graft and don't seem to have done much!

And got a bit more lining done, and got a start on the overhead lockers

Robbie, it's quite easy, just turn the van upside down
Actually a quick spray with carpet adhesive, and just stick it up. Works great. It's starting to get noticeably quieter as I get more insulation and lining fitted.

this is a great conversion. Top job. Whats the thickness of the rockwall? Thinking of using that myself......

TransitTucker, the rockwool is whatever the thickness of the void behind the ply is, so anywhere from about an inch to up to 3-4 inches in places. If you want more insulation, whatever type you use, you will have to add battens to the body to increase the depth of the void.

The forecast blizzards never turned up, so got a bit done today. Bloody freezing though.

Finished off the overhead lockers with the doors,

Also lined the inside of the over cab locker. Bit of a bitch to do, and not the tidiest of jobs, but it will be inside the cupboard, so wont be seen too closely,

Roll on some warm spring weather so I can really get cracking.

Might add an awning at some point, when funds allow, so it may be a while

Overcab locker coming together. You don't realise how big a space that is until you box it in. It's a mahoosive cupboard, I'm sure a short arse like me could climb in and use it as a bunk

Hopefully now can get the last bits of lining finished at the weekend.

Finally got the bulk of the lining finished, with a neat little door to close to mushroom roof vent off when driving, as it makes a bit of wind noise

Image

Then started on a bit of electrics by putting in the switches for the over hob lights and fan

Image

And finished

Image

They even light up when on :D

Started on the frame for some more overhead lockers, and put the last bit of carpet on the edges of the B pillars
