When I used to do long distance couriering, I used to kip in my van on Industrial estates along with many truck drivers. However, ensure you get a quiet corner as they all start up the engines ready for the getaway at circa 4am.
They are nice quiet places to kip though, and mostly safe. Many will have a tea van that opens early as well.
Do you work away in one particular place all week? if so, pick an area nearby that is quiet and off you go.
I used to use Motorway service stations for washing/showers etc.

Thanks for the tips mate. I work in construction so I can be a week to a year in one spot all over the uk, its just depends on the job. the company I work for now though are notorious for jobs that last upto a month. so it made sense that I take the plunge.
some sites let you park onsite so showers toilet etc shouldnt be a problem. but most of the time thats not the case so I was going to use 24 tescos and such like. I know a few people that have stealth campers themselves and the biggest problem I foresee is electricity. im gona have to do alot of studding into inverters, leisure batterys and split charge relays to make sure I get best bang for my buck. ill start the transformation in a couple of weeks as the vans got a clutch/ gearbox problem which makes it more of a caravan than a campervan

Most Tesco stores have automatic camera recognition, working, stop in a few Tesco stores and you'll soon find it more expensive than stopping in a hotel!

Wish I had done this when I worked away.
Instead of staying in pubs. Would have saved myself an absolute fortune. And my liver would be in better condition

I spent a couple of months around london and sauf end sleeping in my escort, I used leasure centres for a swim and a shower. Or service stations for a shower.

If you do get any begging letters from a parking company give it as much attention as a scam email from the other side of the world. It's NOT a parking ticket and only the LANDOWNER can make a claim for loss of earnings or damage only.

They are a spineless, faceless lot. They won't do anything more than make wildly over the top accusations that you owe them a bazillion majillion pounds. Ignore it and crack on with the camper.

does this apply to motorway service stations that don't want you to park overnight? Always suspected that it was B.S, but never needed to test the theory!
