Wheel arch welding done and insulation added. I'm not to sure if i should add the 2 mushroom vents i have or add the Fiamma Vent 40 Roof Vent.

Van sides, floor and rear doors have now been boarded. The roof vent should be in tomorrow and the roof will have ply cut and fitted over the weekend. Then starting next week i will be removing the boards and carpeting them. More pics next week.

tmm,

Have you insulated with celotex (I seem to think that's what I have seen alot of other people doing) or something else, or nothing? I can see you have some sort of tinfoil :D on the walls, could you let me know what it is. I will hopefully be starting something similar in the coming weeks.

I'm liking the progress you've made, please keep the pictures coming, I will follow with interest.

Cheers

Hi
I have used U-foil double aluminium bubble insulation foil which is 2.0 mm thick to cover the sides and roof of the van, then i am going to be covering the roof with some polystyrene sheets. Celotex is a better option but I'm trying to keep to a low budget so that's why i'm going to use the polystyrene sheets as they are free from a friend.
Thanks and if i can help anyone in anyway then that's a bonus :)
I hope you have fun doing your van when the times come :)

Looking good mate, just don't do what I did and keep changing my mind otherwise it ends up being a never ending project, and stay away from pinterest there are so many ideas on that thing.

Just got the roof up today. Once the carpet lining comes i will be removing all of the ply lining and covering with carpet along with all of the van supports.

cool when you carpet try and use a spray gun with sprayable contact adhesive, I used several tins of the aerosol stuff but it kept lifting, I just purchased a cheap primer gun and used that.

I Did think about this as well to be honest. I got the tins of spray glue free with the carpet and I have some unibond in the garage so i'm going to use that to unibond the boards and this will hopefully allow the glue to stick the carpet better.

Been a little busy lately and never really had much time to get on with the van. Had a problem with the new roof vent leaking but hopefully after the 3rd attempt at fitting it, the leak should now be fixed. I've added some polystyrene sheets to the roof, added the carpeted roof panels over the sheets and finally fitted the lights. Hopefully i will have some more progress pictures at the weekend.
