If they are really 250wt at that size and price then they seem a good buy

Have a good search on the Internet, the regulator is also a key component, seems too good to be true.

Thanks guys I've had a good look on the Internet and these are certainly the cheapest, just hard to know the quality of them..
What do you mean by a regulator wongo? MPPT controller or something different?
As you can tell I'm pretty new to solar so any help is much appreciated.
Thanks again :)

Can't comment on the panels themselves, but Bimble seems to have a very good reputation on the Motohome and narrowboat forums.

You will need something like the link below so you don't fry your batteries. (just an example there are lots of different ones)

That'll teach you for procrastinationg :-)

Yes solar in battery out and Load out, it should cut out when it reaches low/high voltage stops you from killing batteries :-)

They seem to be quite large, Is this for your van, I would look at either getting 2*80wt or maybe 1 120wt this is plenty to keep a battery charged I wouldn't like having something that big stuck to the roof of my van. Just my opinion

Frm what I've read 80 to 120 Watts should be fine unless you are using a ridiculous amount of juice.

I too would be a little concerned about putting such a large and heavy panel on the roof.

There are two schools of thought here. Large Wattage panel and a cheap PWM controller, or smaller panel with a more expensive MPPT controller.

The PWM controller burns off excess power so has low efficiency, hence the need for a bigger panel.
A MPPT controller is far more efficient, and delivers maximum power to the battery, so you don't need as big a panel.

Heck, if you are not running a fridge and don't have electric heaters you should be able to use a cheap small panel and a cheap PWM controller.

If you've got LED lights, are careful with your fridge and are not running heaters or a mahoosive stereo and TV, you really don't need much more than 100W unless you intend to live off-grid with no hook up.
