Sorry for the confusion. Yes it has been designed for and fits the Ford Transit Custom Mk8.

Just to clear up more confusion, the Transit CUSTOM, and the Transit MK8 are two very different vans

We have had one or two customers struggling with the operation of the double seat swivel so we have uploaded a couple of clips to youtube to help anyone out. If any further advice is needed regarding fitting or operation then don't hesitate to give us a call on 01254 230300 and we will be happy to help.

I bought one of these at the end of March on ebay.
Whilst it is a heavy bit of kit that does what you expect it to, I must say I am really very disappointed to have seen signs of surface rust appearing just a month later. :(
This is on the exposed metal of the fixing bolts, the cotter/locating pins and their locating holes. This leads to think there may be more appearing - or will appear - in areas out of view, particularly where there is friction.
The van is as watertight as any, (it's a camper, we sleep in it!) we've only took it for a day out once when the seats were rotated so not exactly put it through heavy use!
It's fitted now, payed for the fitting as well so reluctant to go to the efforts needed to return it.
For the £260 price tag surely stainless steel or some coating could have been used to offer a good lifespan, especially as these are designed for vehicles used for domestic habitation.

Hi, we have had so many enquires through here over time regarding our double swivel base to fit a Transit Custom, so just thought it would be easier to just drop you guys a quick post on here.

Here is the brand new double seat swivel base designed by the Customshop team (Community Registered Design 001382212-0001) The Ford Transit custom double seat swivel base is the only crash tested double passenger swivel base on the market. The locking points work on a unique 1/4 turn 'quick release' system so removing all 4 fixing bolts and rotating the base takes literally seconds! They are manufactured in the UK and made from 4mm laser cut steel (raises the seat by 45mm), and has passed seat belt anchorage safety tests using a pull test on a specialist test rig to EC Directive 76/115/EEC as amended by 2005/41/EEC which is a standard requirement for insurance companies when making this type of modification to your camper van and also peace of mind for transporting your friends and family around. The base allows you to rotate the double passenger seat 180 degrees and lock the seat in the reverse position to completely transform the living area in your van. Fits all Transit models from 2013 onwards and is available in Left hand and Right hand drive versions. Fixes directly to the existing floor mounts so no drilling required, installation takes approximately 40 mins from start to completion.

So, today I spent a fair bit of time fitting the double sit swivel to my custom. Good news is it works!
But:
- one of the 6mm washers is bigger than the other and does not fit through the hole (see attached picture)
- if you have a carpet in the front - there is no way to swivel the seat (it has to be removed every time as it blocks the swivel action)
- the swivel action seems to be hindered by the raised floor mat in the middle between the driver and the passenger (need to use a fair bit of force to get it through, so it is matter of time until the floor mat will be torn)
- also the swivel seems to hit the A pillar, a little bit of force and it goes through, also feels like it is a matter of time until the pillar cover will give up
- one of the locking bolts (front-right) does not seem to work - I am not able to lock it. I will try to disassemble everything tomorrow but for now that's it

Anybody else have had similar issues?

I've just watched the video of the swivel seat posted above and as far as I can see that seat is not fitted on a swivel, if you look closely it moves all over the place :?: looking further into it seems one chap has a right grudge with them.

I have just ordered online one of those double passenger swivel seats for my Ford Transit Custom Limited spec SWB 63 plate. I plan to fit this myself, i'm no car mechanic at all so we'll see how it goes in terms of a basic novice following the provided instructions to fit something that, according to the shop description should take 40 minutes. The only other consideration is the heated seat cable!

Well, my seat swivel arrived today, blimey the box is heavy. I've opened the box and started to read the instructions. First off you have to trim bolts and interior trim to fit this seat swivel and gaffa tape some electrical wires down, I do not own gaffa tape (not supplied) nor do I know how to accurately trim bolts. Swivel has been boxed back up until I can work out how to trim bolts and trim without knackering things. NOT A GREAT START TO A 40 MINUTE FITTING!

I've just received my seat swivel as well. As Digger says it is very heavy! I fitted a similar one to my previous Mk 7 and it was just a straight forward bolt in. Can't fit the swivel at the moment as my van is in getting an elevating roof fitted. Should get the van back next week so intend to fit the swivel then. Sounds like a bit more work but should be easy enough.

Well finally got round to fitting the seat swivel to my Transit Custom. Took a bit longer than 40 minutes to fit though.
Fitting was quite staightforward, cutting the bolts was a bit of a struggle (I used a hacksaw).
Only issue I had was when first fitted the swivel rocked from side to side like it was resting on something in the middle which meant that when bolted down the catches wouldn't engage as the bottom plate had deformed.
Got round this by simply packing one side up by about 10mm.
Works fine and is easy to swivel although as previous comment you need to be careful to avoid hitting the pillar trim, it's tight but it can be swivelled without hitting the trim.
Would recommend this if anyone was looking for a swivel for a Transit Custom, not that there is a lot of choice

I've now fitted mine, a bit of a struggle. However, I cannot for the life of me fasten all four bolts in place, swivelled or not, can anyone advise??? The seat does hit the pillar trim as well but i'm going to play around with it a bit more tomorrow to see if I can resolve this. Did manage to keep the heated seat function with a bit of faff.

Double seat swivel fitted. Working fine. Went to see the guys at Customshop Designs who ironed out some issues I had as I have the Limited spec version of the Custom.
