Is it possible to hang a hammock in a van? I was wondering if the frame around the door and just before the cab would be strong enough to take the weight of a hammock and 9 year old child. They already have holes in so I wondered if that was designed to lighten the van or to hang things off.

Should be fine. I wanted to have one in my van but being SWB even diagonally it wouldnt of worked for me but I wouldnt of worried about the van strength.

Take a look at van dog traveller. He has an LDV convoy which has a fibre glass roof and uses a hammock with adults in.

Sure, fit a couple of shackle mounts and use locking rock climbing carabiners for a quick and very safe set up.
