Removing Outrigger

Postby markthespark89 » Tue Feb 28, 2017 9:11 pm

Hi,

I'm looking to fit a refillable underslung lpg tank flush to my transit floor. The isn't an area big enough between box sections to fit the size of tank I need flush against the floor. I spoke to a chap at autogas and he said hes removed an outrigger which is apparently one of the steel partitions between the chassis and the sills before. I only need to remove one but I wonder if this would effect the MOT at all? I'm reluctant to remove anything structural without knowing its ok to do so! Ive added a photo to try to show the bit I mean!

I can't see any issues removing it and you could always add it back if there's room left further down

In my opinion it's easy to make and hard to do something wrong. ;)

hi, i've stumbled across this post as i am about to embark on a similar mission to remove the outrigger in order to fit a 15L LPG tank directly to the underside of the van (on the driver's side, opposite the sliding door)

Can you please let me know (photos would be a bonus) how you resolved the situation?

many thanks!
