That said I've never used hook up as with 2 X 100w solar panels on the roof and a Durite voltage sensing split charge relay keeping the 3 x 100ah leisure batteries topped up we've never actually plugged in (even using 3000w inverter to power microwave/toaster/kettle/slow cooker etc)
I've used it to recover a couple of tired batteries and to charge other batteries though and it's been as, good as gold.

Exactly how caravans are set up. Only mains is for a few 240v sockets and to power 12v system

Dont matter if cables are too thick as long as can securely terminate in the ports of the fuse board input.
100a cable may not fit into your smaller fuse box.
The durite fuses that bolt in are availablein loads of ratings or amperages
