If I ever get time this year I'm wanting to put a few coats of paint on the auld girl (van not the missus) but she be a working girl
and in daily use so maybe have to do a side at a time......

all seems well mate, it drives fine, even with the mileage she's got, I'll be changing the oil every 1000 miles, Engine isn't hunting so the EGR must be working ok, I'm in the commercial vehicle industry so hopefully I can sort it if something untoward happens.

Every 1000 is bit extreme, put another 0 on there mate, use quality 5/30 fully synthetic.
Did you do the painting of your bus

I'll be following this. Good work so far!
I lost my Mk6 camper conversion to a drunk driver last week. I've stripped everything out and currently searching for a Mk7 to transfer all that hard work into before Glasto..
I'm going to have about a week to complete it!!!
If you're camped in East I'll keep an eye out for you.

sorry to hear about your MK6, we are going to see the Stone Roses at Wembley, then onto Glastonbury...I'm not sure where we are staying, either east or west, our friends booked them ! :D
I've done the wiring for the LED ceiling lights and partially insulated the sides today, like you, I'm on a tight schedule mate..photos tomorrow

Don't forget they'll want to see a sink or cooker in there too!
It should be fine because I've stripped most of the camper stuff from the MK6 so as it all the same shape inside it should be a straight swap. Getting the rock'n'roll bed welded up in time may be another challenge though!

I'm just embarking on my conversion now, ordering all the bits. I'm getting an off the shelf panel kit for my limited custom.

Just wondering, I was going to go with thermal insulation / sound deadening material. I'm eyeing up the Dodo van insulation, just a thought as to what else I might need? I'm resisting the urge to put a tonne of expanding foam down all the pillars as at some point I want to run an inverter dual battery system. My guess is styro boards and a vapour barrier?

Yeah but oil change every 1000 miles is just a waste, (even if it's FREE197k) isn't that much considering mine is at 323k
Just make sure its 5/30 fully synthetic that you use
((they fook up with other grades/viscosity))

you're right, 1000 mile changes is a waste :(
today, I ran cable for down lights, insulated with lambs wool in the sides & pillars, 25mm polystyrene on the roof..

I used styro in the roof, I'd definitely use the stuff again, it went in really well.
