were to anchor seat belt after fitting swivel seats MK7

Postby BUMPY » Tue Jul 25, 2017 1:24 pm

i have fitted swivel seats to a MK7, which has presented a problem. the seat belt was anchored to the original seat base, but cant use that method now, as they swivel.
there is a fixing bolt for the seat base box going through the floor near the B pillar, would it be acceptable to use this?? how has anyone else over come this problem??

On my mk 6 I have left it on the original mounting point and just let the belt run round the back of the seat when seat is turned

That's also how Ford do it on genuine swivel seats.

Mounting it elsewhere could require type approval testing

If you are using the standard transit seat they stop on the original mounting point the swivel bolts between seat and seat box if nonstandard why not drill the seat box and bolt it to that with heavy duty flat washers
